Heaven Sent

He calls me his angel
Yet he caught me when I was falling
my wings broken and torn
his arms wrapping me in safety,
my hopes and dreams forgotten upon some distant shore
he gave me hope that those dreams could yet come true,
my tears falling like rain within drowning my heart
he dried my eyes so that I could see,
lost and alone in a world of darkness
his smile was the light that drove back the shadows
leading my into the sunlight,
I was shivering in the cold prison of walls
his love was the key to my prison
he brought down the walls setting me free,
I was hiding myself frightened to let others see
yet he accepted as I am
he never judges me

but it was he that was Heaven Sent
he watches over me night and day
his love ever present.

Dreams of fairy tale worlds,
of shimmering castles
built on cotton candy clouds,
with unicorns and magic,
in realms of wonder and delight.
Dreams of young love,
of knights in shining armor
coming to seek the fair maiden.
these are dreams born in the hearts
of the young as they slumber.
As we grow older these dreams tend change
the fairy tale is replaced with reality,
the castles tumble down as the
the cotton candy clouds turn
to gray storm clouds that fill our lives,
the unicorns and magic
fading into the mist legends,
the wonder and delight
swept away in a sea of tears
as we realize that the
knight in shining armor
rode off into the sunset long ago.
While for others this dream is lost
or lies shattered in an endless pool of tears,
for the true Dreamer...
the one who dares to believe,
the one brave enough to reach out,
to hold on with faith and hope,
this dream never fades...
